Job Summary

Thisposition will partner with the CFO in providing strategic financial leadership that gives financial visibility to the company’s management team and enables profitable growth. This position assists all cross-functional partners with integrating sound financial practices into every part of the company.

Areas of direct responsibilities include financial modeling, development of performance management scorecards and dashboards, customer and product category P&L development, project cost accounting and innovation profitability planning, annual budget and monthly process management, trade and brokerage reporting and management, long term strategic business planning.

This is a hybrid role located in our NYC GoGo SqueeZ office and allows up to 10 days a month work from home.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4-5, chartered with providing financial information to assist management in making well informed business decisions.
  • Deliver insightful monthly business review packages that illuminate current conditions and contributing factors, as well as opportunities for performance improvement and profitable growth.
  • Lead the annual budget process for the US, as well as all monthly re-forecasting during the year, based on our monthly S&OP process.
  • Assist the accounting team during the monthly closing operations.
  • Further develop customer and product P&Ls to facilitate calibration of our business strategies and help ensure and accelerate profitable growth.
  • Lead support of the brand team in the development of innovations, providing financial advises during strategic planning, development, and execution phases.
  • Co-lead the implementation of RGM.
  • Mentor, guide and develop direct reports and other team members to optimize the ways of working and performance, ensuring the department is staffed with high caliber engaged talents.
  • Provide training to cross-functional partners on financial practices to ensure they have an optimal understanding of the business.

 

Qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; MBA in a financial discipline highly recommended; CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in finance/accounting roles, with a background in FMCG companies.
  • Strong drive, strong impact, conciseness, ability to positively challenge and very good understanding of the business are key attributes to the role.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit coupled with great leadership, strong analytical and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing to take initiatives and to take full ownership of processes with a deep understanding of the numbers. Strong sense of skepticism coupled with ability to appropriately challenge business partners.
  • Quick learner, ability to manage and prioritize several priorities at the same time.
  • strong sense of managing up: keeps track of open items and issues, keeps management informed of progresses and bottlenecks.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and summarize for management.
  • Ability to learn systems and software quickly (SAP S4 Hana, AFS, FM, …), excellent Excel skills required as well as Power BI.
  • Experience implementing new financial reporting systems, as well as managing international sales and imports.
  • English required; French is a plus. International experience welcome.

Working Conditions:  Work is mostly performed in a hybrid office environment (up to 3 days/week in office).  Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week.  There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. This position requires travel periodically up to 10% of the time.
