Job Description Summary:

The Project Engineer Assistant will acts as the right hand of the lead Project Manager, performs engineering work, using normal engineering practices, assist in keeping within budget and timelines. This position helps by utilizing management skills, assist in technical solutions and cost estimates to support the facility.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of construction project team to ensure that project plans are being follow as directed by the Senior responsible Engineer.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings
  • Participate in daily / weekly / monthly project timeline updates
  • Assist Senior Engineer in checking work completed against drawings.
  • Fill in / assist the Senior Engineer as needed to ensure project completion and success
  • Be out and about on construction site daily.
  • Interact with General Contractor, and Sub. Contractors crews on a daily basis to achieve success and a safe work environment for all.
  • Special projects as needed or defined by the Senior Engineer.
  • Organize follow-up meetings and prepare minutes, prepare progress reports and dashboard
  • Monitor progress on-site and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Follow up with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
  • Track and performance indicators.
  • Manage project documentation and archives.
  • Contribute to equipment commissioning and installation validation.

  • Safely analyze and design project improvement opportunities which align with Bel’s values.
  • Project ownership including, pre-project planning, quantifying and presenting project options.
  • Participate in design of installations and project supervision including written proposals, managing execution, cost and deadlines.
  • Manage the execution of projects while holding contractors accountable. Not only to   the scope of the project, but to the policies/procedures set forth by the plant.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others. Follow all food safety procedures.
  • Follow all environmental protocols as applicable to job to prevent pollution to air, land, or water. Follows all sanitation procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred. Gpa +3.0
  • Desire to work in Food Industry with ability to be take position in Bel factory after construction project is completed.

    •    At least 5 years managing projects highly encouraged
    2 to 3 years of working history Previous experience in site construction supervision or industrial coordination is a plus.
    Knowledge of budgeting process through the use of MS Excel strongly preferred
    •    Strong MS computer skills usage is strongly preferred
    •    Understanding of how to read drawings
    •    Ability to read tape measure or other measurement devices 
    •    Knowledge of the following programs is a huge plus:
    o    Microsoft Project 
    o    AutoCAD
    o    SAP 
    o    PLC knowledge and programming ladder logic

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., as well as climb ladders.  Some travel will be required – US as well as international.  Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in the plant as required.
