Job Summary:
The Senior Tax Analyst is a key member of the tax department, reporting directly to the Tax Director based in Chicago. This position will be working closely with him, the Company’s internal accounting/finance teams, and external tax consultants on all aspects of the Company’s tax function.

Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Tax Director, the Senior Tax Analyst will work with our tax advisors to prepare workpapers for the Company’s federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Assist the Tax Director in handling federal, state, and local tax audits by:
- Researching technical issues;
- Drafting clear and concise responses to audit inquiries; and,
- Organizing and managing necessary documentation throughout the process.
- Prepare income tax provision workpapers and calculations for financial statement purposes.
- Assist the HQ during financial reporting and budget process including, but not limited to, the reconciliation of tax accounts, taxable income forecasting, tax depreciation forecasting, and submission of the consolidated Tax Package.
- Prepare other tax returns, including but not limited to use tax, property tax, and franchise tax.
- Maintain the tax compliance calendar for multiple legal entities.
- Ensure timely resolution of tax notices and inquiries.
- Develop and present actionable insights based on pending federal and state tax law changes to cross-functional teams to enable informed business decisions.
- Maximize current tax incentives programs through annual filings.
- Collaborate closely with the Tax Director to lead strategic initiatives that optimize the Company’s tax position in the US and globally.
- Drive value on special projects as they arise. These may include:
- Advanced pricing agreements;
- Tax due diligence related to acquisitions;
- Tax optimization strategies; and,
- Tax credits/incentives, among others.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- BS in accounting or finance.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting demanding deadlines.
- 3+ years of corporate tax experience and/or large CPA firm experience, including federal return experience; multi-state tax experience is preferred.
- Candidate should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, possess a desire to learn, and be extremely detail oriented.
- Advance degree or certification (CPA) in taxes or accounting preferred, but not required.
- Proficient with Excel.
- Openness to working with evolving technology platforms such as ChatGPT, Power Query, and Power BI to streamline tax processes and derive actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in a hybrid office environment, required 2-days in office and flexibility for up to 4 depending on schedule of visitors #LI-Hybrid. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns related to meetings and trade shows. Periodic travel may be required up to 5% of the time.

Total Rewards:
Pay Scale: $90,000 - $100,000
Bonus Potential: 12%
