Mission:

Quality:

• Enhance end-to-end quality by leading quality and food safety improvement activities throughout the downstream supply chain, including product transport, storage, distribution, and in-market.
• Manage and follow up on subcontracting quality (co-manufacturing, co-packing, re-packing, etc.).

Regulatory:

• Ensure products are labeled and marketed in compliance with local regulations.
• Follow relevant procedures with local authorities.

Key Responsibilities & activities:

Market Quality & Food Safety:

1. Lead the cluster Quality & Food Safety roadmap with stakeholders.
2. Prepare, report, and communicate quality KPIs; ensure actions and follow-up on deviations.
3. Conduct risk-based Quality and Food Safety audits for distributors and co-manufacturing partners.
4. Implement quality management best practices across the supply chain, distribution and in trade
5. Provide quality expertise during new innovations or changes.
6. Investigate quality complaints and incidents; identify root causes and ensure resolution.
7. Implement Group Quality Management Systems and policies.
8. Enhance Quality & Food Safety capabilities through training and audits.
9. Raise awareness on food safety culture and risk assessment.
10. Coordinate group quality activities, Quality Systems, policies and programs at the country level.
11. Analyse non-quality costs (NQC) and propose reduction plans.
12. Participate in recall/withdrawal and crisis management.
13. Ensure effective traceability processes and conduct market visits for feedback.
14. Coordinate customer quality requests with corporate Quality teams.

Regulatory:

1. Lead regulatory activities in the SSA region.
2. Monitor and implement local food safety, composition and labelling regulations.
3. Provide regulatory expertise during product innovation and changes.
4. Ensure brand activations comply with Bel policies and local regulations.
5. Ensure fair consumer information in line with Global Ethic guidelines.
6. Manage notifications, authorizations, and certificates with authorities.
7. Work with sales teams and distributors to ensure label compliance.
8. Act as a business partner to understand strategy and educate stakeholders on regulations.
9. Identify evolving regulations and assess their impact on Bel products.

Other :

1. Support implement Bel Nutrition team programs: nutrition education in schools….
2. Coordinate import / export and custom codes requirements with central team.

Job Profile:

• You have a BSc.  Chemistry, food technology or scientific background with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in FMCG within quality management and regulatory (food composition, labelling, regulatory bodies, etc)
• Supply chain and logistics exposure is a plus
• You are fluent in French and English, with a proactive and collaborative mindset, and proactive strong problem-solving skills
• You know how to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively across technical and business levels
