Purpose

The R&D packaging engineer mission is to develop packaging and processes that meet Marketing briefs, end to end brief, as well as the group objectives, by identifying suitable packaging and processes while complying with current regulations (CSR) and food safety principles. This applies to both Materne and Mont-Blanc.

 

  • Briefs analysis to translate consumer needs into a reliable technical solution.
  • Identify and map the impacts of new packaging and processes.
  • Develops packaging based on the requested functionalities, with pre-selected suppliers.
  • Provides packaging information’s for cost calculations.
  • Established optimized palletization plans.
  • Drafts trial protocols and tests reports.
  • Participates in the validation of new packaging/suppliers through compliance tests and supplier audits.
  • Defines and implements robust control plans with suppliers and in squeeze factories to ensure the launch of a new product.
  • Organizes logistical trials (storage, packaging resistance, etc.).
  • Handles industrial trials to validate the information that will be communicated to production and for operator training.
  • Shares specification and protocol to set and follow-up to the operators before the first production.

  • Participates to the risk assessment for the packaging aspect of each brief.
  • Establishes into the PLM system, the documentation with product specifications and supplier certificates.
  • Provides samples for internal/external needs.
  • Project manager role:
    • Manages, and coordinates a project team.
    • Defines the scope of the project.
    • Develops the project budget and Schedule and manage risks.
    • Leads regular project meetings and provides project updates to the management team through project indicators
    • Ensures the project is delivered within the agreed criteria.
    • Ensures all lessons learned from the project are captured, shared, and archived.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • Technical qualification at Bac+2 with 5 years of project management experience in the industry (agri-food, biotechnology, automotive)
  • Bac+5 qualification with 2 to 3 years of project management experience in the industry (agri-food, biotechnology, automotive)
  • High general technical level and good knowledge in packaging development and packing line, with experience in product/packaging interaction.
  • Proven problem-solving experience.
  • Project management, knowledge of associated tools, and cross-functional team coordination.
  • Technical English spoken and written to interact in an international environment.
