As an Operations Manager - your mission will be :
- Overseeing the plant's overall production, packaging processes (Processed cheese, Hard cheese, Milk related activities, Whey drying activities) and maintenance activities in terms of previously defined quantity, quality, cost and deadlines while following laws, regulations, GMPs and procedures in effect and striving to achieve maximum productivity, performance while involving majority of operational team members.
- Protecting BEL Group values Dare, Care, Commit while applying 7 winning behaviors (Do what is right not easy, Think bold act fast, Simplify and focus, Inspire and grow, Act with people and planet, Play to win as a team, Make customers smile), together with all members of operation team.
- Leading and supporting End to End BBA (Big Bel Acceleration). Productivity ideas and activities and Bel Manufacturing Model (BMM) in order to achieve a step change in manufacturing processes, to evolve from the "manufacturing as a cost of production" into the "manufacturing as a competitive advantage" for BEL.
What are the essential business activities expected from this position:
A. Production management and organization
- Responsible for manufacturing and contribution to packaging part
- Responsible for the implementation and management of resources made available to achieve this goal with respect to its technical, technological, social, quality and accounting aspects.
B. Technical aspect
- Assists with the drafting of the production schedule and oversees its execution. Ensures that the production resources are compatible in the medium- and long-term with logistical demands in terms of both reliability (production security) and capacity.
- Defines the investment needs of department.
- Contributes to the definition of the annual maintenance program and is consulted for the application of this program.
C. Technological aspect
- Works in conjunction with the development department to define processes and procedures for current and new products.
- Defines and implements work structure to account for product quality standards and formulas and ensures they are followed by the shops.
- Suggests all technological developments that may improve the quality or cost of manufacturing current products.
D. Human resource management
- Implements and protects BEL Group Values Dare, Care, Commit
- Applies 7 winning behaviors (Do what is right, not easy, Think bold act fast, Simplify and focus, Inspire and grow, Act with people and planet, Play to win as a team, Make customers smile), implements and develops of company culture based on defined values (Ethics, Inovation, ...).
- Ensures safety culture development, employee safety and continuously improves working conditions.
- Defines needs, assists with and creates tools to train his staff. Uses methods of labour productivity measurement.
- Defines the structure of the department. Conducts performance reviews for all direct employees. Defines staff needs in terms of numbers and skills. Uses methods of labour productivity measurement to evaluate this needs.
- Enforces laws, regulations and procedures in effect, manages his team with a participatory style and expects the same approach from all subordinates.
E. Quality/Safety/Environment/Fire protection
- Complies with the requirements specified in ISO standard 9001 version 2000, HACCP, BRC norms , ISO standard 14001, FSSC 22000, OHSAS 45001.
- Ensures respecting of the all internal and governmental rules and regulations related to Work Safety and Fire protection
F. Budget management
- Defines standards for materials, labour, packaging and the formulas that should constitute the baseline plant budget and justifies any deviations.
What we expect :
- University degree, specialized in food processing or chemical field
- 5 years experiences in FMCG area
- Experience in production site of which preferrably in an international company
- Thorough knowledge of the ISO quality management systems and food standard
- Fluent in English and Slovak
- Knowledge of SAP system and WCOM approach (team work, 5S, continuous improvement ,...)
- Ability to effectively use "soft skills": Communication, Performance management, Change mngm., Motivation, Conflict resolution...
