Job Purpose:

The Export Subsidies and Tax Accountant plays a role in ensuring efficient financial operations and compliance within the organization. By ensuring alignment with relevant tax regulations and protocols, the accountant contributes to optimizing tax benefits and ensuring timely recovery of financial entitlements.

Main Accountabilities: 

  • Review monthly packaging material invoices, analyze VAT refund amounts, and communicate quarterly VAT accruals with the accounting team for booking.
  • Prepare and submit sales tax refund files related to exported packaging materials and follow up with tax authorities to ensure timely refunds.
  • Compile and submit export subsidies files with the necessary documents to the Export Subsidies fund within legal deadlines and adhere to related protocols in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
  • Work closely with the accounting and supply chain departments to secure bank advice for export sales, ensuring accurate completion of shared export subsidies files.
  • Represent the company in dealings with tax authorities, IDA (for local value certificates), and MCDR (to refund tax on dividends per Egypt-France tax treaties).
  • Prepare and provide analyses for tax compliance issues, coordinate with tax authorities for rulings on disputes, and manage communication for tax checks and forms submission.
  • Prepare yearly analysis to refund differences in royalties and management fees percentages.
  • Actively engage with authorities like the IDA to issue local add-value certificates, which contribute to increased export subsidies collections.

 

Education, Expereince and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Strong commuication and interperinal skills.
  • detailed-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
