We are looking for a passionate and dedicated DEI & Culture Intern to join our team and support our ongoing DEI and Talent Development initiatives.

Job Summary: The DEI & Culture Intern will play a crucial role in supporting various DEI and Talent Development projects and initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the logistics of trainings, support DEI councils, conduct benchmarks, and contribute to the overall culture of inclusivity at Bel Brands. Additionally, the intern will work closely with internal and external communication teams to effectively communicate Talent Development and DEIB initiatives and progress, and will assist in data monitoring to track the impact of DEI and Talent Development efforts.

 

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

  1. Conducting Benchmarks:
  • Research and analyze DEI best practices and benchmarks within the food industry and beyond.
  • Compile, maintain an internal repository of DEI-related content for leaders of the DEI Council and present findings to the DEI team to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on DEI-related data.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and impact of DEI initiatives.
  • Support the development of dashboards and reports to communicate data insights to the DEI team and other stakeholders.
  1. Communication on DEIB:
  • Collaborate with internal and external communication teams to develop and disseminate DEIB-related content.
  • Assist in creating newsletters, social media posts, and other communication materials to highlight DEIB initiatives and achievements.
  • Support to ensure consistent and transparent communication about DEIB efforts to all stakeholders.
  1. Supporting Projects:
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of DEI projects and initiatives,
  • Provide logistical and operational support for DEI events and activities.
  1. Supporting DEI Councils:
  • Provide administrative support to DEI councils and committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
  • Assist in the implementation of council initiatives and projects.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among council members.
  1. LMS (Learning Management System) Administration:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the LMS, including course setup and uploads, user registration, assigning courses, reporting and data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot the issues related to LMS and provide tech support
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and best practices.
  1. Learning Coordination:
  • Coordinate the logistics of training programs, workshops, including scheduling, room bookings, materials prep, post program follow up and feedback.
  • Track and upload attendance, nominations and manage participant communication.
  • Post programs follow up and feedback collection.
  • Support the development and distribution of training materials and resources.
  1. Vendor Management:
  • Identify vendors and coordinate with them for contracts and agreements.
  • Liaise with finance for the invoices processing, PO generations and budget tracking.
  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Sociology, Social Sciences, or related disciplines)
  • Strong interest in diversity, equity, inclusion and Talent Development topics and a passion for driving positive change within organizations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and navigate new systems and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Solid research and analytical skills to gather and interpret data related to DEI

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work in normal office conditions

 

Compensation

$21-24/hour

Time Commitment

24 - 40 hours/week; up to 6 months, ideally starting January 2024

 

Work schedule

3 days/week, 9:00am-5:00pm

Hybrid work schedule in NYC office
