Main Responsibilities

 

 

  • Understand the basins where Bel is operating:
  • Understand the Orchard context in the world and especially in the Group is operating.
  • Understand the Squeeze business, including apple cultivation cost, identify the opportunities for Bel to participate in the economic improvement of apple producers.
  • Have a good knowledge of the orchard activities of each subsidiary: apple need, collection zone, practices, apple quality, collection, price modelling, etc.

 

  • Participate / organize benchmark about innovative apple practices (Farming for the Future, etc.);
  • Driving change within & outside the ecosystem, spread good practices towards stakeholders
  • Participate actively to the implementation of each driver of Bel Sustainability commitments by participating in the local roadmap definition and their deployment.
  • Be responsible for the project of GHG reduction at farm level within our SBTi commitments.
  • Be responsible for the project to reach Bel’s objective to have 100% apple orchards in transition to regenerative by 2030.
  • Participate to the budget & Business plan definition and follow-up to reach roadmap targets;
  • Participate in apple /fruits network/eco system to explore best practices and defend the Group interests.
  • Work on specific project: apple price modelling, development of new basin, implementation of Carbon measurement
  • Understand the relevante KPIs to track to monitor progress including carbon diagnostic tools, carbon accounting and carbon removals potential.
  • Know the regenerative agriculture practices for apple / fruits cultivation.
  • Collecting data for Bel’s CSRD reporting.

 

Work on specific projects: regenerative agriculture pilots, partnership with startup related to carbon mitigation and / or regenerative agriculture practices.

 

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

 

1) Minimum education level and/or equivalent professional experience needed:

  • Agronomic engineer level with expertise on regenerative agriculture projects.
  • Field experience in apple, wine & orchard activities including all agricultural aspects; sustainable production, especially related with orchard resilience, regenerative practices and decarbonation.

 

2) Specific skills or qualifications (foreign languages, software skills, technical skills, …):

  • Understanding of agricultural and professional environment.
  • Knowledge about Orchard crop system and apple cultivation.
  • Knowledge about supportive tools to measure the quality and sustainability.
  • Passionate about sustainable agricultural models
  • Understanding the relation with the final squeeze product.
  • Understanding of milk production and related sustainable practices would be a plus.
  • English and French are mandatory.
