Objective

The Senior Category Manager will lead all category management activities for the GoGo SqueeZ brand. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving Bel's business success by developing data-driven category insights, optimizing retail strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.

Additionally, the Senior Category manger will collaborate closely with retailers to shape the vision for the healthy snacking category, solidifying Bel's position as a trusted partner in category development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Category Leadership:
    • Lead all category management activities for the GoGo SqueeZ brand, ensuring alignment with Bel’s business objectives and retailer goals.
    • Interpret business data to develop actionable, fact-based recommendations that support the achievement of sales and profit objectives for both Bel and its retail partners.
  2. Retail Execution:
    • Perform planogram analysis and provide recommendations to maximize Bel's position on shelves, along with tailored suggestions for optimal assortments.
    • Analyze promotional activities and recommend the best promotional mix, efficiencies, and ROI strategies to benefit both Bel and its retail partners.
  3. Progress Monitoring & Analytics:
    • Track progress against the retailer’s and Bel’s brand business objectives, recommending actions as needed to achieve goals.
    • Develop KPI tracking reports and lead the use of all analytic tools to monitor performance.
    • Leverage internal and external data sources including Nielsen, Numerator, and retailer-specific platforms (IRI, Toolbox, LDIA, Retail Link) for actionable insights.
  4. Collaboration & Business Partnership:
    • Partner closely with Key Account Managers to align on sales strategy and execution.
    • Work with Revenue Growth Management (RGM) to evaluate promotion ROI and advise on annual promotional plans.
    • Customize account/channel-specific sales presentations combining category insights with retailer strategies.
    • Collaborate with KAMs to provide forecast data for the S&OP process and support the annual planning process by conducting data analyses and identifying growth opportunities.
  5. Retailer Engagement:
    • Prepare and present impactful business reviews with clear category recommendations to retailer category teams and senior management.
    • Work in partnership with retailers to establish Bel as a trusted thought leader and partner in category development.
  6. Team Development & Leadership:
    • Coach, supervise, and develop the Associate Category Manager under your leadership, ensuring alignment with company objectives and the brand’s strategies.
    • Lead recruitment, evaluation, training, and development plan.
    • Provide ad-hoc analysis and support to other internal teams and senior management as needed 

Required skills and qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CPG industry in a category management and / or related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing and/or related field
    • Strong analytical skills, able to synthesize information to develop understanding and insights
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Finance acumen, strong strategic analytical thinking & problem-solving skills.
    • Team player that interacts effectively with cross functional teams and different levels of the organization
    • Organized with the ability to manage well under deadlines and multi-task effectively
    • A result and detail-oriented professional, with exceptional interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency manipulating sales data
    • An excellent understanding of technology (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
    • Expertise in analyzing data using Nielsen, IRI, LDIA, Retail Link and any other customer specific POS platforms
    • Proficient written and spoken English.  Knowledge of French is an important asset.
    • Travel required occasionally for the purpose of internal and customer meetings and trainings
