Plant Operations Coordinator - Temporary (4 month placement)

Job Summary

This position is a temporary position lasting approximately four months. The Production Operations Coordinator provides operational and administrative support to the Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate production reporting, manufacturing execution, inventory reconciliation, production documentation, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a key resource supporting daily plant operations, production scheduling, manufacturing order management, production records, and continuous improvement activities in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Production Planning & Manufacturing Orders

  • Create, release, modify and close Manufacturing Orders (MOs)
  • Perform week-end manufacturing order reconciliation and closure
  • Backdate manufacturing transactions when required
  • Support production scheduling updates
  • Create new manufacturing orders as needed
  • Communicate schedule updates to plant personnel

 

Production Reporting & ERP Transactions

  • Maintain daily production reporting including:
    • OEE
    • Downtime
    • CIP Runtime/Downtime
    • Production output
    • Material consumptions
  • Review production consumption accuracy
  • Investigate and correct missed consumptions
  • Reconcile manufacturing inventory transactions
  • Maintain production KPI reporting and plant SQCDME boards
  • Generate and distribute daily and weekly production reports

 

Production Documentation

  • Build and maintain daily production folders
  • Review production paperwork for completeness
  • Scan, archive and maintain production documentation
  • Maintain electronic production records
  • Return completed production documentation for retention
  • Support document control activities

 

Preventive Maintenance Documentation

  • Print weekly PM work orders
  • Enter PM completion records
  • Scan and archive completed PM documentation
  • Maintain Preventive Maintenance documentation including:
    • Red Point Audits
    • Fastener Audits
    • Blue Point Audits
    • Air Particle & Velocity testing
  • Maintain maintenance documentation files

 

Quality & Food Safety Support

  • Review production, quality and food safety records for compliance
  • Support pH sample collection as required
  • Perform pH meter verification as required
  • Verify production scales as required
  • Support pouch weight verification activities
  • Support Quality investigations and documentation
  • Assist with Product Hold and NCMR documentation
  • Support traceability exercises and product investigations

 

Inventory & Material Management

  • Reconcile production inventories
  • Support FIFO/FEFO inventory practices
  • Perform weekly dry ingredient inventory counts
  • Determine dry ingredient requirements
  • Prepare SCNs and labels
  • Maintain dry ingredient inventory records
  • Coordinate production supply inventories
  • Maintain production consumable inventory levels

 

Administrative & Operations Support

  • Prepare Zebra labels and production documentation as requested
  • Maintain production administrative supplies
  • Support Production Managers, Supervisors and Leads
  • Support plant 5S initiatives
  • Assist with special projects and continuous improvement activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma required.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Experience

  • Manufacturing environment preferred
  • ERP experience preferred
  • Strong administrative experience
  • Production reporting experience preferred

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to work in normal office conditions and on a food manufacturing floor wearing proper PPE
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion
