Job Summary:
Responsible for evaluating plant processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve safety, improve quality, improve sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks:
· Use continuous improvement tools to drive out defects in the process and enhance overall safety, quality, and productivity, by collaborating with production teams, maintenance teams and leadership.
· Responsible for working with the sanitation and operations manager on projects regarding the overall CIP process, systems, optimization, and design
· Drive continuous improvement in quality programs and employees through data collection and trending, training/coaching, teamwork, and the use of problem-solving skills to create new quality opportunities, systems, and programs
o Data mining and analytical analysis
· Develop, support, and implement quality continuous improvement projects
· Deliver the plant budget goals for quality costs, OEE, and yield.
· Support plant innovations to ensure food safety and quality compliance while working with plant teams, R&D and Corporate Engineering
· Improve processes to support recipe adherence and accuracy
· Manage and support Quality related Capital Projects as assigned
· Own and drive change management and process changes that will impact quality costs
· Provide technical support to the operating teams regarding equipment or processes that implicate food safety or quality.
· Maintain and improve the technical and training documentation for the department.
· Responsible for delivering Food Safety and Quality KPIS and improving methods for collecting accurate data.

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
EXPERIENCE
· At least 2 years of manufacturing is required, preferably in the food industry
· Familiar with HACCP and sanitary design principles
· Experience with CIP systems is preferred
· Experience with flexible packaging is preferred
SKILLS
· Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
· Understands technical systems and terminology
· Excellent inter-personal skills
· Proven project management skills and technical problem-solving capability
· Ability to work and manage within a team environment
· Ability to organize and prioritize actions to help meet plant objectives and long-term vision
· Familiarity with PLC's and instrumentation
· Possess applicable AutoCAD or MS Visio skill
· Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervision
· Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed
· Ability to lead and teach others effectively
· Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
· Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
· Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to work in normal office conditions and in the manufacturing plant environment.
· Opportunity for travel to other Bel locations or to vendor/contractor sites may arise but travel is not a strict requirement of the role.
