Supply Chain Lead - A Shift - $31.57/hr (Internal Only)

Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Lead will be responsible for all tactical management of the Supply Chain Department on the shift assigned. The Lead is responsible for running one of the areas of Supply Chain Production Support (Yard, Warehouse, Switcher Truck, VIF Operations/Palletizer), while also providing guidance to all other operators in the other areas of the department.

The Lead can make decisions concerning staffing coverage, equipment-related issues, inventory management, incident investigation, reporting and response. The Supply Chain Lead is the first point of contact for all Supply Chain business on their shift and is responsible for escalations to the Supply Chain Supervisor or Manager when needed.

 

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

    • Perform daily work actions with all apple yard drivers including but not limited to: Reception, Tagging, Storage, Sampling/Testing Direct unloading and reloading priorities/materials
    • Determine material destinations and storage locations
    • Work with Apple Yard Specialist to locate and prioritize the use of stressed apples in storage to mitigate spoilage and protect blend adherence
    • Serve as a back-up to Apple Yard Specialist and Shipping and Receiving Specialist with ability to perform basic functions of their roles
    • Monitor temporary storage trailers during holiday shutdown weeks to ensure it maintains proper temperature to maintain ingredient quality
    •  
    • Manage chemical deliveries and material waste stream outside the production facility to ensure proper material waste control Interface with Shipping and Receiving Specialist to schedule vendor pickups of waste materials
    • Target 100% compliance of material by stream to ensure the right material goes in the right place, escalate trends in non-compliance
    • Monitor and communicate container levels to maintain production and waste flow, avoiding all stoppages due to container level issues
    • Work directly with management and execute special projects related to waste removal
    • Manage maintenance requests for compactors
    • Obtain certification to receive bulk and non-bulk chemical deliveries and support chemical movements between production and warehouse facilities
    • Manage and dictate material waste stream locations and assure general cleanliness of area of responsibility
    • Assure adherence to blend specifications
    • Act as direct backup to the Apple Yard Specialist for blend recommendations and composition requests
    • Proper lot staging in the pre-production area
    • Proper nesting/removal of waste bins
    • Recommend blend proportions and apple type in accordance with past blend history and/or R&D approved additions
    • Assure that safety initiatives are adhered to by performing behavior-based safety observations and report all accidents/incidents in assigned area
    • Populate and follow up on work orders in Corim
    • Support pre-production area by acting as a resource for apple-specific changes or resource needs
    • Act as certified MNA trainer for all MNA equipment that requires licensing and refresher training
    • Act as first point of contact and reception for all equipment deliveries
    • Direct and staff salt/sand efforts in outdoor pedestrian areas where contractor does not shovel and salt
    • Ensure driveways and parking lots remain cleared in accordance with third party contractor and Materne snow removal contract
    • Facilitate communication between snow removal contractor and be on-call 24/7 during snow events
    • Level 1 Material Handler
    • Maintain Licensure on: Stand-Up Fork-Lift, Yard Switch Truck
    • Lead the supply of apples from storage to the staging area for production in collaboration with the Apple Yard Specialist and in accordance with the following requirements:
    • Pursue corrective action with technical services group for equipment repairs
    • Primary point of contact and lead for Snow Removal on your shift
    • Meet or able to meet the following qualifications (minimum), and be able to perform each job so that they are included on backup coverage lists for each position:
    • First point of contact for Supply Chain related topics on assigned shift
