POSITION CONTEXT

In this major transformation, the Applied Research department plays a key role: it leverages scientific and technological innovation to drive the group’s food transition and sustainable growth.

As part of a sabbatical replacement, we are recruiting a Technician in Microbiology and Molecular Biology to join an expert team specialized in food fermentation, involved in projects and collaborations around microbial metabolism. LOCATION & START DATE

12-month fixed-term contract (CDD), starting January 1, 2026. Position based at the Bel Group’s Research, Innovation and Development center in Vendôme, Loir-et-Cher (41), on the TGV line between Paris (40 min) and Tours (20 min).

 

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the Applied Research Department, which operates primarily upstream of Innovation and Development at Bel Group, and reporting to a Research Scientist, you will take part in the implementation of the Research strategy.

As a Technician in Microbiology and Molecular Biology, your main duties will include:

  • Organizing and conducting experiments using classic food microbiology and molecular biology approaches
  • Implementing and optimizing molecular biology protocols on cheese, fermented plant and fruit matrices (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid quality control, etc.)
  • Supporting the analysis of omics data from sequencing, in collaboration with the research scientist on the team
  • Participating in the development and validation of new analytical methods
  • Analyzing, formatting, and interpreting results obtained
  • Actively participating in the daily life of the laboratory (safety, inventory management, ordering, etc.)

 

PROFILE

You have a 2/3-year higher education degree (Bac +2/+3) in Biological Engineering, Molecular Biology, or Biological Analyses.

You have knowledge in microbiology (inoculation, isolation, identification, etc.) and molecular biology (nucleic acid extraction, end-point PCR, real-time PCR, electrophoresis, sequence analysis, etc.). Experience with flow cytometry would be a plus.

Ideally, you have initial experience in a similar position within the agri-food sector.

You are organized, autonomous, rigorous, and dynamic.
