Job Description Summary
The Specialist Learning & Development (U.S.) helps to shape a meaningful learning experience for Bel’s U.S. teams and is the operational driver of Bel’s U.S. learning agenda. You will bring Bel’s L&D vision to life by supporting the planning and scheduling of impactful programs, managing our LMS (SuccessFactors) and BLOOM (Bel’s Learner Experience Platform), and ensuring all connected employees have the opportunity to grow through well‑crafted training opportunities and Individual Growth Plans (IGPs). This hybrid role is based in Chicago or New York City, or can be located at one of our US manufacturing sites.
You will partner with local HR leadership, HR Business Partners, and US Industrial HR management and global HR L&D teams to support local and global priorities to help meet the unique learning needs of employees across the U.S. business.
This role is a blend of communication, data stewardship, LMS operational excellence, and a deep commitment to helping people grow and thrive. The Specialist, Learning & Development helps cultivate a culture of openness in information sharing, and builds and maintains effective working relationships with leaders, people managers, colleagues and team members. In this role you must have a “marketing mindset” to actively and effectively promote and drive learning engagement and participation to elevate our learning culture at Bel.
Key Responsibilities
Program, Catalog and Calendar Development
- Build and maintain the U.S. Learning Catalog and annual training calendar. Foster high engagement and participation through timely, ongoing, and strategic promotion of training opportunities.
- Work with Talent and OD Directors, HR commercial and industrial leadership to support the organization’s learning needs and ensure timely communication, scheduling, and coordination of training in partnership with local teams.
- Follow Bel Group’s L & D Guidance Notes to help prioritize (in consideration of US priorities) and localize global programs, helping to ensure completion of globally mandated trainings, tracking of KPIs and learning hours.
- Support relationships and coordinate programs with current external training providers and assist in sourcing high‑quality learning experiences (instructor‑led, virtual, digital, blended, coaching, microlearning).
- Support development of structured learning paths for managers, leaders, and other key roles in coordination with HR LT and functional leaders.
- Collaborate with HR and functional teams to create playlists in BLOOM aligned with business needs.
- The L&D Specialist will support AI literacy, leveraging AI thoughtfully to enhance learning experiences and proactively seeking opportunities to promote AI-driven learning solutions and initiatives to help upskill employees in AI and emerging technologies, and helping to promote a culture of curiosity and innovation around digital transformation.
LMS & LXP Administration
- Serve as the U.S. administrator for the SuccessFactors LMS (SMILE) and BLOOM our Learner Experience Platform, ensuring data accuracy, catalog courses are set up properly in LMS/BLOOM in advance to drive engagement and registration, schedule sessions, assign learners, and log participation according to Bel Group best practices.
- Establish and maintain a single, simple, shared database (e.g. SharePoint) of:
- Required learners for training assignments, registrations and waitlists, completions and status updates, etc. This database must be easily accessible to HRBPs and kept up to date on regular cadence (monthly, quarterly…).
- Track, report, and analyze learning data, including:
- Completions, Assignments, evaluations/engagement metrics
- Recording Training/learning hours, and ensure data is audit-ready.
- Report to HRLT regularly (monthly/quarterly) Progress against local and global KPIs.
- Ensure all mandatory and compliance trainings are delivered on time and fully audit‑ready.
Communications, Engagement & Experience
- Build and execute a quarterly communication plan to promote learning opportunities using a variety of communication tools: Email, Viva Engage (Bel’s internal comms platform), Digital signage/TVs, Leader briefings and business updates, SqueeZ rallies, Business Updates, BLOOM announcements, team meetings, lunch & learns and roadshows, etc.
- Respond in a timely manner to inquiries from leaders, HRBPs, and employees, ensuring a supportive and solution‑oriented learner experience.
- Increase learner awareness, inspire participation, and celebrate achievements utilizing various communication tools.
- Engage leaders and HRLT as champions of learning and role models for continuous growth.
Training Scheduling & Logistics
- Partner with HR, internal subject matter experts, and external training partners as needed to help organize and schedule training workshops.
- Manage training logistics, including facilities, communications, room reservations, virtual platforms, and materials, meals and breaks, coordinate with EA and HRBPs as necessary.
- Provide support to learners before, during, and after training.
Vendor & Budget Support
- Assist Talent/OD Director with L&D budget by
- Setting up new vendors, initiate and managing POs
- Track expenses and spend-to-date
- Support Talent/OD Director in managing the annual L&D budget cycle
Onboarding New Hires to L & D
- Lead and/or provide support for the L&D portion of new‑hire onboarding, providing an engaging introduction to ensure all new employees understand how Bel supports their growth.
- In collaboration with HRBPs, ensure 100% of connected employees have learning objectives incorporated into their Individual Growth Plans.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Proactively evaluate or support program effectiveness using feedback tools and pulse surveys to improve the learner experience and share results with HR and business leadership.
- Translate data into insights to help shape future programming and skills development.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of progressive L&D, LMS support, HR, or related experience.
- Proven experience administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or Learning Experience Platforms (LXP) or demonstrated strong aptitude for quickly mastering new technologies and systems.
- Experience creating training catalog, or similar communications for training offerings.
- Strong data literacy: reporting, dashboards, trend analysis, and storytelling.
- Vendor management and budget management experience.
- Strong communication and marketing mindset, project management, and stakeholder collaboration and influencing skills.
Preferred
- Experience with modern LXPs.
- Knowledge of SCORM/xAPI, authoring tools (Articulate/Rise), and analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated interest in embracing and utilizing AI.
- Experience supporting both corporate and manufacturing populations.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed largely in a hybrid office environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other business needs.

Total Rewards
- Base Salary: $95,000-$105,000
