Job Purpose:

The Operations Technology Manager is responsible for planning, deploying, and overseeing operational technologies across the plant to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing automated and digital manufacturing systems. The role drives the integration, modernization, and continuous improvement of industrial automation, connectivity, data management, and digital applications, while ensuring alignment with corporate standards and plant operational needs. It also supports capability building through technical guidance, documentation, and training to enhance overall plant performance and digital maturity.

Main Accountabilities:

•Plan and supervise the implementation of operational technologies integrated into our automated and/or robotic process control systems. The technological context is eclectic (different suppliers, different levels of modernity).
•Ensure the deployment and local operation of the EDGE (middle layer for data management and deployment of various industrial applications).
•Ensure and oversee connectivity works (migration and update of shopfloor equipment) and physical connection.
•Deploy, update, and contextualize data model standards for all machines.
•Maintain the availability of industrial data to upper layers and inter-asset communications.
•Ensure the virtualization of shopfloor (thick client to thin clients).
•Participate to management and the upgrade of the industrial IT infrastructure (ILAN) in coordination with the IT Site manager.
•Deploy international standards (OPC UA, PACK ML, ISA...).
•Make necessary program modifications to optimize overall plant performance, employing innovative technologies such as PLC machine, HMI, AI and machine learning, Vision, Wireless security and control, AGV, COBOT.
•Participate in technical expertise groups (GET) led by corporate teams (missions in other plants within the group, writing standards...).
•Contribute to the deployment of digital streams.
•Manage deployment of business applications from the EDGE Manager and participate in the creation of specific applications.
•Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for the plant (LAN schema, program versions, functional analysis...).
•Provide training and knowledge transfer locally on new technologies or deployed modifications.
•Functionally manage site automation engineers and facilitate community engagement in collaboration with the technical manager.
•Provide first-level automation training to autonomous teams.
•Update operational KPIs within their domain.
 
Education,Experience and Qualifications:
•Engineer-level education or equivalent in acquired skills, with at least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering/automation.
•5 years of successful experience in managing industrial projects and automation packages, ideally in the agri-food sector.
•Recognized expertise in designing automation and robotic systems (PLC, variable speed drives, sensors, EDGE, robots, cobots, etc.), industrial safety systems, as well as industrial information systems (SCADA, MES, etc.).
