Sign-On Bonus:

Schedule:

Job Summary:

As a Machine Operator at Materne, North America in Traverse City, MI, you will be responsible for operating machinery on one of our high-speed production and food processing lines.
Compensation:
$24.62 – $26.85
Position Responsibilities:
Tetra Pak
- Operation of Tetra Pak machine – mixing of materials and products
- Load ingredients into Tetra Pak machine according to Materne’s specifications.
- Work with computer interface to monitor equipment
- Read schematics and diagrams to monitor machine activity (flow, machine status, temperature settings, level indication)
- Testing of PH levels, viscosity levels, brix levels, flavor additives using quality devices
- Break down machinery with hand tools to clean and sanitize
- Receive / inspect materials and accept or reject based on Materne’s specifications
- Observe materials to identify contamination or foreign materials
- Detect equipment problems and troubleshoot
- Operate industrial carts and power hand carts
- Inspect product as it moves through manufacturing process for quality
- Complete paperwork and document down time
Volpak
- Operate high-speed manufacturing equipment through touchscreen/HMI
- Read schematics and diagrams to monitor machine activity (flow, machine status, temperature settings, level indication)
- Inspect product as it moves through manufacturing process for quality
- Conduct sample testing and record data
- Operate industrial carts, power hand carts
- Perform troubleshooting and basic maintenance of equipment
- Clean work area and sanitize equipment
- Complete daily paperwork and reports
Ixapak
- Operation of Ixapak machine in a high speed manufacturing environment
- Work with computer interface to monitor and start/stop equipmentReset robotic arm positions after line shut down
- Load materials into Ixapak machine
- Set machine to increase / decrease number of pouches selected for different size packaging sleeves
- Understand mechanical operation to adjust and manipulate Ixapak machine
- Break down machinery with hand tools to clean and sanitize
- Observe materials to identify contamination or foreign materials
- Inspect pouches for uniformity and quality
- Detect equipment problems and troubleshoot
- Document tracking sheets for machine efficiency and downtime
- Operate industrial carts, power hand carts
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for an entire shift (12+ hours)
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred
Technical / Trade School preferred
Experience:
Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus
